Además del momento y la intensidad del sexo oral, las personas que tenían parejas sexuales mayores cuando eran jóvenes y las que tenían parejas que tenían relaciones sexuales extramatrimoniales tenían más probabilidades de tener cáncer de orofaringe relacionado con el VPH.
«Nuestro estudio se basa en investigaciones previas para demostrar que no es solo el número de parejas sexuales orales, sino también otros factores no apreciados previamente los que contribuyen al riesgo de exposición al VPH por vía oral y el posterior cáncer de orofaringe relacionado con el VPH», añade la doctora Drake.
