En esta investigación, cincuenta participantes con obesidad intentaron seguir el plan durante 12 semanas. Se realizaron encuestas telefónicas semanalmente, y a las 6 y 12 semanas los participantes acudieron a la clínica para ser pesados.
Casi el 60% de los participantes seguían comiendo con restricción de tiempo a los tres meses y habían perdido un promedio de 3,5 kilos, pero incluso aquellos que no lograron una adherencia total también perdieron peso.
Los investigadores de la Universidad Queen Mary de Londres dicen que los resultados de la adherencia y la pérdida de peso son lo suficientemente alentadores como para justificar un ensayo aleatorio con seguimiento a largo plazo.
La autora Dunja Przulj, de la Universidad Queen Mary de Londres, precisa que «actualmente faltan planes de control de peso simples que las personas puedan seguir.
